held is a trading name of Gavin Demurger-Jones, a sole trader and Counsellor and Centre Director operating a counselling centre at 7 Hazelgrove Road, Haywards Heath, West Sussex RH16 3PH.

For the purposes of data protection law, Gavin Demurger-Jones is the data controller. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Your contact details, brief notes relating to your referral and matching process, and records of any correspondence between us.

When a therapist joins held

Your name and contact details, professional qualifications and registration details, availability and fee information, a headshot photograph for use on your public profile, and any other information you choose to share.

When you visit our website

Our website is hosted on Squarespace. Squarespace may collect certain technical data automatically including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on the site. This data is processed by Squarespace in accordance with their own privacy policy.

3. How we use your information

• To respond to your enquiry and assess how we can best help you

• To match you with an appropriate therapist

• To communicate with you about your referral or membership

• To maintain records of our activity as required by law or professional guidance

• To manage our relationship with therapists who are members of held

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

4. Our lawful basis for processing

All therapists operating under the held umbrella are self-employed and individually responsible for the data they hold in relation to their clients.

6. How long we keep your information

• Enquiry and referral correspondence: two years from the date of last contact

• Therapist membership records: duration of membership and two years afterwards

• Financial records: six years in accordance with HMRC requirements

We use secure email via Google Workspace with two-factor authentication enabled. Our website is hosted on Squarespace, which uses SSL encryption. Access to personal data is limited to Gavin Demurger-Jones and, where necessary, therapists at held on a need-to-know basis.

Our website may contain links to external websites including the professional body profiles of our therapists. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites.
