Finding the right therapist should not be hard work

At held, we have made the process as simple and human as possible.

Here is what happens when you get in touch.

Step 1

You reach out

Send us a message or give us a call. You do not need to have the right words. Just tell us a little about what is going on and what kind of support you are looking for. There is no right or wrong way to start.

Step 2

Your enquiry goes to our team

When you get in touch, your enquiry goes to our practitioners. We share the key details of what you are looking for, and the therapist with the right experience and availability will come forward. It is a simple process, and it works because our team genuinely cares about finding the right fit.

This is not an algorithm. It is a human process, coordinated by Gavin, our Counsellor and Centre Director.

Step 3

We come back to you with a suggestion

We will be in touch, usually within 24 hours, with a therapist who is ready to help and whose experience matches what you are looking for. We will tell you a little about them so you can decide whether they feel right. If they do not, we will keep looking.

Step 4

You meet your therapist

Your first session is a chance to meet each other and decide together whether it feels like a good fit. There is no pressure and no commitment beyond that first meeting. If it does not feel right, we will help you find someone else.

Step 5

Therapy begins

Once you are matched, your therapist handles everything from there: booking sessions, discussing fees, and agreeing how and how often you will work together. We are always here in the background if you need us.

A few things worth knowing

• Sessions are typically 50 minutes, once a week, though your therapist will discuss what works best for you.

• All our therapists are qualified, insured, and registered with a recognised professional body such as BACP or UKCP.

• Fees vary by therapist. You will always know the cost before you commit to anything.

• Everything you share with us and with your therapist is confidential.
