You do not have to practise alone
Therapy can be a lonely profession. You give a great deal of yourself in the room, and then you close the door and carry that work with you. held connection exists because we think that should not be the whole story.
It is a free, informal gathering for therapists and counsellors working in Mid Sussex. No agenda, no speakers, no networking in the corporate sense. Just a couple of hours with people who understand what this work actually feels like.
What it is?
held connection meets every few weeks at Haywards Heath Town Hall. We keep it deliberately simple: tea, good biscuits, and conversation. You can talk about your work, your practice, the profession, or nothing at all. There is no format to follow and no obligation to contribute.
Some people come regularly. Some come once and then again months later. Both are fine. The door is always open.
Who comes?
Qualified therapists and counsellors working in Mid Sussex
Therapists in training who want to connect with the local community
held members who want to meet the wider network in person
Anyone working in the talking therapies who recognises the value of not working in complete isolation
You do not need to be a held member to come. held members attend free. Non-members are asked to contribute £10 to cover room hire and refreshments.

A bit of background
held connection started as a small gathering run through On Your Side Therapy, Gavin's private practice. It found its home at held because the values are the same: that people who do this work deserve a place to belong, not just a room to rent.
It is not a CPD event. It is not a referral network, though connections do get made. It is simply a room where therapists can be people for a couple of hours.
